Oh and I'm already down to four chromis. I didn't put the guards on my overflow and there were some casualties haha! None of them showed symptoms of that disease though. Either way, I have no real intent to keep damsels or chromis long term anyway.

You’re down 4 Chromis from no guards? :) I don’t know man. I called it.

Eh, not worried either way. I wouldn't put a clownfish nor any of those other fish in there long term. However, I'm almost tempted to get another 10 chromis to test the theory now that I have my guards in my overflow. That way I could do a biopsies on any dead bodies that I found. Only found one dead body out of the 11 that have gone missing. That body didn't show any symptoms of that disease.

That wasn't on any of the fish. A few of the ones that I got I knew wouldn't last overnight. A couple of the other bodies that I found had nothing on them. They died because of the overflow. I'm certain. The problem has been fixed though.

Gutter guard ended up making too much noise with the surging of the water from the overpowered powerheads that I put in the tank.

how is a grate or gutter guard any different than having teeth?

It is different if the guard is below the lip of the internal box. In this application, it's not that different. My tank has large waves running side to side and that surge is what was cause more noise than dead silent, so I just reverted back to this method. Same difference as teeth, but it handles the surge well. If I could redo it, I could add a baffle inside the internal overflow and make it work as originally designed.

Just got in the Tampa bay live rock today. The rock looks great, but we ended up getting mostly really big rocks. 10-14 pounds each. At roughly $7.50-8 per pound, a 14 pound rock ran us $115. I should have specified smaller rocks. Either way, here are the three that I ended up with.

The scape for now. Thoughts? Sorry, it's still cloudy.

Tank looks great! I like the scape! About time I see that filled! And where did you get that water storage vat thing? My dad and I are thinking to do something around 100gal for rodi and same for salt.

I like 3 pieces that got. Your tank is starting to come together and is turning out really nice.

Looks fine to me Cody -

Check for mantis before you add fish and corals - it's a pain to catch/remove those guys late on plus those guys love to eat small fish.

So I pretty much nuked the secondary system in my fish room. The secondary system runs off of Kalk. The top off bucket was empty, so I put enough freshwater in the sump to turn off the auto top off and then poured water into the bucket, same as always. Typically, by the time the auto top off kicks on again, the kalk has settled in the bucket. For some reason, it dosed a lot of Kalk into that system. It was really murky but I've done something similar to this before and everything was ok. This morning, pretty much everything, including the fish, was dead. I even thought that maybe I should move everything to the main system last night but decided it would be ok. It was not ok.

Dang that sucks, wait are you talking about your 20gal? The tank that the rainbow Millie is in?
Nah the secondary system is the one in the fish room on the wall. The long and shallow tanks. Had a few colonies of B irdsnest and purple stylo about the size of grapefruits. Those were on their last leg when I threw them into the main system this morning. The zoas seemed ok.
