Cody needed this...he has a hard time doing maintenance on the system. :p
I'm maintenance illiterate. I kept expecting you to come do my water changes for me but you never came. Very disappointing. 0 stars, unsubscribed, would not recommend.

Just got my apex up and running to control the auto water changes. It has been working for me for a decade so I can't knock it.

Hey man I've never had one of these fail me. Used them on all sorts of projects. Bearded dragons, aquariums, etc and the things are just built to last and easy to use.

Yeah I've used them for a decade and never had an issue.

The trick to timers is only use them for small jobs. Nothing that’s high risk.

Example: Turn Fuge light on/off. Skimmer on/off. Bubble scrub on/off.

Don’t dose Kalk with them. Lol

But...better than those bulky timers are mini WiFi plugs. App controlled with your phone. They don’t take up too much space and are pretty reliable. Again...low risk applications!

I use these sorts of plugs for my lights. I like that I can check the status from my phone.

Yeah, these are better than the old school timers. The size alone makes them a sale for me. I bet they’ll even plug into an Apex power bar.

Billy Pipes uses a similar power plug, but it’s the whole bar that’s WiFi controlled. ReefGrrl dumped her old timers and started using them too.

So I shouldn't be using the bulky ones to control my dosers and lights?! I've been controlling both of those for a very long time with them haha

The smaller smart outlets are nice, but o started having issues with it after a year. It started talking to my Wi-Fi, got confused, and won't function as programmed. Again, never had that issue with the bulky timers doing the very important stuff for my tank. @reeftopia has been running a couple thousand gallons off of them for about a decade as well and never had any issues.

For sure the bulky timers are workhorses but being able to check from work if my crap is working is great. Of course I believe you employ security cameras like I do to monitor your fish room correct?

So the 60 rimless that housed most of my corals has been on a downhill slope for a few weeks now. I blamed it on negligence due to reef currents, personal life, and general other things. I was taking care of it. Corals started losing skin.

I decided to switch corals to my main tonight and be done with it. Upon moving corals over, I realized that one of the two powerheads wasn't working and the other was blowing like a fart. Either way, most of the corals were moved over and I don't have room for them at the moment, but I will make it work.

Also, I changed the t5 bulbs to three blue+ bulbs and one actinic. I also ramped up the white leds. I used the par meter to dial things in, but I'll have to post those results later. Let's see how it goes.

I dipped everything in Lugols upon transferring tanks. The milli hardly fits in a 5 gallon bucket. You can see a little skin loss.

The 150 is already getting crowded.
