Yeah, what software are you using?
It's not the best way, but I use inkscape. SVG files don't transfer size perfectly to the cnc router software. I should really be using something that exports dxf.

So I finally got my calcium reactor up and running. It took a while to get the Kamoer pump in, but it finally arrived, so I finished off the last few steps of making my reactor.

Got the pump ready to go!

Doing a little water proof testing to make sure everything is leak free. Everything is leak free!

Got everything set up and running. I need to figure out how to organize everything. It looks terrible just all thrown about. Maybe I'll build a box to organize things.

I actually couldn't turn the co2 on until today. I lost the power cable for the regulator and had to order a new one and it arrived today. I'm checking the alk level of the effluent every hour and it keeps getting stronger. I need to find out where it will max out. Then, I can use this calculator to dial it in.

I'm really happy with kamoer pump and the milwaukee pH controller so far. I'm hoping they will continue to perform well in the future.

Nice. My Milwaukee crapped out I had to go to using my apex. Hopefully you have good luck.
Strange. I've heard nothing but great things about them both online and from people I know that have used them.

This might be one of the best things you have built so far. The fish trap was useful but mostly funny....but this is something you can use. Keep us up to date on how well it is working.

Well thanks you. I personally think my skimmer is a much nicer piece of equipment. It required a lot more thought, designing, redesigning, etc to get it to where I wanted it to be. A carx is just a tube with a pump attached to it. Nothing complicated about it.

And this is just my first round. I built this one for function to make sure the design functions correctly. I'm building reactors for two other people after this, and they will look even better!

So far, so good. As far as the reactor itself is concerned, it functioned well right out of the gate. As long as the sucker holds water, its more or less solid haha! By tomorrow I'll have the unit dialed in.

Reactor is stabilized out and everything is good.

For my secondary system on the wall, I finally got around to lighting the top tank. I'm going to make this my zoa tank, so I only put two t5 retrofit bulbs on top. Built out a little canopy, despite not liking canopies, so that I can reduce light pollution. I'm going to try 6 hours on, 6 hours off for lighting. I wonder if it will increase growth rates. I'll put a light blocking curtain around the tank to not mess with the biological clocks of the other fish in the fish room.

Is your new zoa tank tied into the other? If it is do you plan to run a reverse light cycle?
Nah it's on my secondary system. I like having two incase something happens to one, I can move corals over immediately. This system is going to test the idea that you can run two 6 hour light cycles per day, so long as there are no fish or inverts, and get two photo saturation periods per day. In theory, twice the growth rate.

Yeah I am not a canopy fan either but I REALLY like not being blinded by the lights from a tank. Plus you dont have to worry about what the lights look like or the wiring as long as it is not falling down.
Keep us posted on the 6 hour cycle...that will be interesting.

I had to modify it a little yesterday. I'll post pics later showing what I did. I had to cut the front and make that a door as well. Looks like crap but functions well. Let's see how long before i get annoyed by the looks haha

Just got my first ever shipment of corals in! I've never bought a single living thing online before (well, minus live rock) so this is pretty neat. I got a few things from a live sale, so did @reeftopia . I haven't texted him yet that they are here. Let's see which one he sees first.

In the future, I dont mind ordering stuff for others to pick up from my place if a few folks want to get in on various live sales. Helps save on shipping.
