I can tell the difference in water clarity the next day. I usually have to change mine every 5 or 6 days
I quit running socks. Pain in the butt even with easy access. I kinda feel they block some food too.
The only time they seem to be beneficial is when you’re cleaning or if you want a spotless sump. They also work well for water clarity when taking pictures (depending on micron size).
I’ve seen a ton of epic systems with dirty sumps and 3” of detritus.
