Can someone identify this? Should I leave it alone or remove it? Thanks in advance.

Yep! Definately GHA, annoying stuff for sure:)
Manual removal or a siphon works great. Some consider gha presence a good indicator that something might be a little off. How are your parameters and how long as your tank been running?

And welcome to MARSH!

It is normal in a new tank once things have settled. Absolutely remove as much as you can. Basically, if left to die, the nutrients get recycled back into food for more algae. Nutrient export is the most important concept to maintaining a reef tank in my opinion.
