Could just be blue tang things. I guess i'll find out. Less depressing news.

I believe that - back in 2011 I had a large blue tang and every few months I would see white spots on him. I had over a dozen fish in the tank and everyone was eating and acting normal.

Yep, got burned back in 2009...Super careful now with adding fish. My recent lot / purchase with Dr. Reefs went well. It took north of a month from order date (05/03/22) to receipt (06/06/08/22) to get the 1st part of the order in.....yes, still waiting for the QT to finish with some anthias. So far, so good. Good luck!!

Tangs notorious to have ich and never show unless stressed.. the yellow I got from you never showed nothing but hunger lol. But had to be changed out for BT(black tang) that came up.. yellow was so beautiful but nowhere to put him safely as big tank has established Red Sea purple,Red Sea sailfin, medium Dori, and medium Dessumeri tang... had to reduce bioload too.

Doris and yellows worse ones by far.. yellows have to look at fins to see most time. Ick blends in with yellow. I haven't lost a tang since my original black tang I got from 3CC that was the size of a half dollar... had him over 10 yrs then all of sudden stopped eating and gone in 3 days. Really strange. May been cause stuck in 60 gallon cube just outlived his stressed size. No loss of any other fish. Happy to have new BT in 180 cube.

the fish i got from you went straight into qt. They are doing ok.

I was trying out a new thing with double dipping h2o2 and then dosing h2o2 every day with UV to slowly eradicate ich. I added a pbt from a lfs and things went south really fast. I think it was velvet. So I started up some qt tanks and moved everyone out. I still lost a few though but not too bad. 4 fish?

let the tank go fallow for a few weeks. then added bleach to 100ppm to wipe the board clean. Then either reduce the chlorine down by letting it slowly evaporate or using a dechlorinator.

Switched up to the big algae turd scrubber

Tank still only fowlr for the time being. I reset the tank in june. So I’ll wait til spring for coral.

I still have higher than I want for nutrients so I’m still working on that. I was still running a filter sock but I think imma go sockless

How are your nutrients high with just a FOWLR tank? Are you still pooping in your tank?

That’s why I bought the algae turd scrubber, scrub my turds out.

But it’s a fowlr, so I can feed heavier without the drastic repercussions of an elevating nutrient level afterwards. Also since it’s just fish I can get away with extended periods of no water changes and pooping in my tank. Fish food is expensive, poop
Is free.
