slow going. I took a page outta @Seaworthy Aquatics playbook and put some led strip lights into the stand.

I'm just doing wiring right now.

I'm currently treating 2 qt tanks with copper. I want to get them outta QT and into an observation tank before filling this tank up with water. Don't wanna inadvertently add ich into this tank if possible. Gonna try ich eradication as long as I can.

I have the vectra 2 as the main return, cor 20 as a backup/ uv pump

I need to figure out my the heater situation

My wiring is a mess so already looking better than mine lol. As far as heaters go, I like my True Temp 800w jbj titanium heater and it's the right size for your tank. Probably the most reliable and accurate heater I've used. My apex temp reading is always a touch off, I check once a month with a few hand held thermometers to double check, but the True Temp is just that. True. Always lists the correct temp on it's display via its own temp probe that I put in the overflow box. I have 600w worth of BRS Titanium heaters for back up. The true temp is a bit pricy, but worth it imo.

I looked at the jbj true temp, and when I finally decided to bite, they went out of stock. I ordered an aqualogic temp controller instead. I think I'm going to run this the following

Running 1x 600w BRS titanium heater and 1x 300w heater -> Aqualogic controller -> apex controller

I will set the aqualogic to switch off at 78 and the apex to switch off at 80. Aqua logic should handle most the switching on and off, and the apex is the 2nd failsafe. Going with brs titanium heaters, but I think I might get finnex ones that are a lil cheaper.

QT tanks are nearing end of qt timeframe - 1 tank is at 3 weeks, and 2nd tank is at 2wks. Hopefully all tanks will be cleaned and ich free once I put water into that main DT.

Any new fish or corals will be put into a holding tank/ qt tank in a separate bedroom I have. This is the slowest I have gone, hopefully it all pays off.

didn't noticed my ATO tank was chipped... oof. Since I didn't report it in 24 hours, seems like my claim in gonna be denied. I was just worried about the tank and the sump. big oof

I think it should hold water. I'll test it today.

You should be fine - seems like the crack is on the outside. The inside silicone looks solid plus ATO tank holds very little water so not much pressure.

thanks, i think so too. I didn't get a chance to water test it yesterday. was stuck at work til 10pm. I'll try it today. But I think I am going to leave it outside the stand to watch it better.

with the ato reservoir, they really didnt care about making the inside seams pretty. If anything that should give it more strength.

@RR-MAN did you ever sell that bougie ato reservoir?

It's not going to look attractive but you can apply some JB Weld on the outside in case you are paranoid like me. :)

haha still have the ATO in it's original box in the garage - Definitely very high quality plastic.

Haven’t even tried running the skimmer yet and I got a new skimmer pump.

Not sure how high my bioload will be at the beginning so having dc control makes sense to me.

i have rocks. tweaking it here and there. not 100% happy with it yet. prob gonna start throwing water in here soon. this weekend prob

trying to figure out if i want to have my skimmer before my fuge or after. watching a few waterbox videos, it looks like everyone is running theirs before the skimmer. seems like asking to have to clean out the skimmer nozzle a lot.

I always put the skimmer first when I can. Catches junk before it has a chance to settle in your macro algae in the fuge and cuts down on nutrients and bacterial growth like cyano. Though I would expect the difference to be minimal if your fuge/sump has good water movement.

Tank looks great so far. Can't wait to see it running!

Everything is looking really *chefs kiss*, love the black and glass look going on. Clean sumps are just the nicest part of the hobby. Then within a few months they get covered in crud and you never experiencing that feeling again.

i am official cycling. I used algae barn nitro and fritz turbo 900.

As far as bare bottom, I’m not 100% sure yet. I figured I’d start bb and throw in sand if I needed to.

Yea I’m trying to take pictures of the sump while I can. It’s gonna get gross like you said. I am considering no fuge and running an algae scrubber to lower the amount of coralline algae in the sump if possible

I got injured helping my brother install a roof on his garage. So imma be out of the pocket for a bit. Tank is cycling anyways .

Looking very nice! What’s the footprint of that tank again?
