This kind of sux. Can you hear $$$ going down the proverbial toilet?

Here is an excerpt

“SpaceX reported last night (February 8, 2022) in its Updates area that 40 of the 49 Starlink satellites it launched to low Earth orbit on February 3 are now doomed by a geomagnetic storm. Such storms are disturbances in Earth’s magnetic field caused by activity on the sun.”

Don't you watch the movies? We know these things are gonna happen. No problem, all satellites will be replaced on the next launch. SpaceX is launching every week this year more and more satellites til it covers the whole earth....

with lasers....

What was more cool, was to see the starship lifted up with the chopsticks onto the super heavy booster. Mars again.

Ohh and NASA complain the 🛰 are gonna bring the ISS down... BUT they already have a plan to destroy it and let it burn up re-entering the earth here shortly.

Just got my Starlink last week and VERY happy. We finally have good internet out here in the country! I dont yet have the pole mount or the ethernet splitter (new version doesn't have this for some stupid reason) so it is just sitting in the back yard but still averaging 30mbps and ranges up to 200 and down to about 10. Latency is always less than 50ms, generally close to 30ms. Beats the pants off the verizon lte I have been using that just plain sucks and we get throttled after 25GB...so what 3 movies?!?
I have not seen any outages myself but the app shows it averages a few minutes of outages per 12 hours. Those will get better with more sat coverage but I just have not seen any issues with the lost of those sats.
Also have been impressed with their strong wifi signal which you typically don't get without buying an aftermarket router. Once the network splitter comes in I can get it mounted properly and wired into my home network and kick verizon out!

Thanks for the info!

In Nocona we still showing: Starlink expects to expand service in your area in March 2022.

Currently I am using Speed of Light Broadband which uses a microwave dish installed on the house pointed at a tower a couple of miles away. Have been happy with it. Just upgraded to 25 mbps download 5 mbps upload.

Will probably keep both and use a dual wan router with either failover or load balancing.

Nice! Out here in Frelsburg there was nothing but ATT and Verizon LTE. I checked a few of the microwave companies but we were about a mile out of range. The ATT tower is 8 miles away and the Verizon is 4. The first year I bought a sim card off a guy and it was unlimited and worked flawlessly. Then ATT and Verizon started kicking all unlimited plans off so they could throttle you. I tried every unlimited company on the internet and it would work for a month then it got caught and was disabled, so I had no internet for 3 days while they shipped me a new card. Did this for a year...it really sucked. I had no choice but to go with a verizon business plan but they throttle after 25GB and I use that up in 3-4 days. Then we are stuck behind every high school kid watching movies on their cell phone! Nights, weekends, and holidays were the worst and had throttled speeds around 256K if it worked at all. Too few towers and too many people all on Verizon. TMobile tower is about 12 miles so out of range.
It will be interesting to see how well starlink does but right now the gubmnt is dragging their feet on the new spacex starship launches. They need that ship to launch their version 2.0 sats which have LASERS! :) and are much bigger and faster. I figure spacex is making nasa look stupid and they really dont like that.
