Had some help this evening. Made some nice progress. Refugium light installed. Auto-water change plumbed. General cleanup and putting things back on the Apex.

Some free loaders took up residence. Said they do me a solid testing things out and helping with the cycle.

Hooked up doors and float switches to break out box. Pretty neat to open the cabinet doors and have the lights turn on.

They just showed up, I can't imagine who let them in. :nerd:
I do know they went through two rinses to hopefully rid them of the majority of any nasty single celled algae lol..

Put in my juv. hybrid black tang and two blackcap basslets last night. Tang seems more relaxed today. Haven't seen hide nor hair of the two blackcaps.

Plans for this week: Build rolling cart to hold UV sterilizer and 1/3 hp chiller behind tank and hopefully get that plumbed in.

And just like that my tank has ick [emoji35]

All of these fish have been in QT for 6 months or more.

The tang and 2 basslets have been in the same qt tank. The clowns were in another system with a purple and yellow tang (no ick).

So I’m thinking it was either the macro algae, amphipods or copepods. They were added thu/fri last week.

I don’t think there is anyway to catch the basslets short of taking the rock out.

Only a few spots on the tang and clowns so far.

Restarted the QT system this evening. Need to buy some bacteria.

Hmmmm now I’m wondering....

Since no corals are present. If I could just drop the SG of the whole tank and just run hypo for X days....

Only thing in the tank is fish, pods and macro.

As long as it doesn't harm anything in the tank then I don't see why not.
