I have a tank that I’m going to take down that has approximately 30-40 lbs of live rocks. I plan on getting a bigger tank in a couple of months and placing the rocks in there. What’s the best way to store the LR?

Regardless of where you put it, like mentioned before, it will need water flow, the correct temperature, but also a continual supply of nutrients. You'll have to feed the storage container every other day or so to give the bacteria something to eat.

So, can’t store it dry? If I can’t, I might as well keep the tank going. Just hate having a 3 saltwater tank or brute trash to attend to.

Anything on it will die off if you store it dry. Of course you can use it again once you start but it'll be like starting fresh again.

Really the brute isn't much effort and I'd suggest that. I've done it before.
