If it's just for top off, you can use bottled water... anything that has no chlorine, don't worry about tds right now. If you can safely get out, grab a few gallons of filtered or distilled water from store.

Also, cover your tank and sump as much as possible to reduce loss from evaporation. Will also help your heaters. (I only use my glass tops in the winter... makes the tank too hot, even without heaters, otherwise)
** cover with non- absorbent material. My power has been off and on (mostly off :( ) and I have a sleeping bag over/around the tank... and it does get damp from condensation. Plastic, glass, etc, if you have it. You don't want to completely block oxygen exchange but you can even use saran wrap or trash bags over sections of your sump and tank if things get desperate

I’ve used distilled water from the grocery store in a pinch, good luck!
Distilled water is the best alternative option. You can buy it at grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. probably even find it at a convenience store.

Walmart brand purified water with a GREEN label on it will state "purified by reverse osmosis" I have used this on my nano system without any hiccups for some time. it costs $0.80/gallon

I do this with ANY of the bottled distilleds or rodis and add a couple drops of prime just for good measure for the nano... never any issues, blooms, etc. Just get it to temp first. The plastic membranes the jugs are made out of tend to keep it on the cold side 🥶

I picked up 8 gallons of RODI from The Fish Gallery The Woodlands today, so I will be able to top off my tanks for a few more days. I have also been putting any random pieces of glass I can find on the reef tank to try to slow the evaporation a little.
