I will be moving my 100 gallon reef from my second floor to my first floor sometime in the future. I am looking to find out where I can rent/borrow and if needed purchase the large suction cups that can be used to lift the tank when its time to move. we carried the tank up the stairs without them but WILL NOT do that mistake again. Any input is appreciated.
thanks,

Heavy duty equipment rental like sun belt rentals also rent suction cups. They are all over town.

I use 2-4 wood’s Power-Grip N4000’s & 2-4 people when I move anything that’s 220/G and under. Smaller tanks like my 75/G and up to about 150/g only need about two people, but it’s always good to have extra cups and people as spotters. These suction cups are 8” in diameter with larger ABS handles. Mine are rated for 125lbs each. If you are moving a 300-500/G...you need about 8 cups. You can go up to the 9”-12” cups which are rated for 150 up to 440 lbs each. Overkill unless you have an 800 to 1000/G aquarium. Then I would pull out the big boys. We’ve used the 8” w/o issues. Two on all sides. One guy on each cup. :) Always better to have more cups and people with spotters who can see ahead and help if needed.

These are the ones I use. 8” 125lb rating.

Moved a 220 with a friend one time. Just me and him. It nearly ripped our arms out of socket! I definitely recommend 4 people when you get over 200 gallons. :)

Going up and down stairs with my 75/G (by myself) I always go to Home Depot and rent appliance dolly’s. Well worth $20.
