Always wanted a Candy basslet but was new willing to fork out the money for one so went to Global Aquatics and saw James had a Swissguard for sale. :D being a cryptic fish he went straight to hiding in he rocks. Trying to fogure out a way to entice him out. All of my fish are peaceful so hopefullyitll come out. Any on have any experience with these guys?

Never had a swissguard, but previously when I had, a chalk basslet, took several days until he was comfortable enough to come out to eat.

I think chalks are a lot more open to coming out feom my understanding but, ill hold my breath in hopes he'll come out eventually. Hoping when I get my tang he wont go back to hiding due to the robustness of the tang.

He will almost never come out during the day.
Most time he feed on pods in the rock, all he needs.
I had one and I thought he was a goner but recently when I had to redo my tank I found him again after two years of a NO SHOW.
He's in the grow out-system as of now for almost a month and still a NO SHOW.

Lol may end up taking him out and put him in a nano or something. Like I said always wanted one and have one but I can never enjoy him :( ive even thought about seeing if theirs a sure way to sex them so ican have a pair but alas that info has been illusive.

Ive read that sometimes when another is introduced the pair are a lot more brave and will come put more often so hopefully David at Urban has that one still.

Sneaked a far away picture of him. Can barely see his face in the cave in the middle but, he is becoming more open.

Added a second basslet and so far they seem like theyre pairing up. No real fighting just a bump and more of watching out for each other. Anyone know if Swissguards are schooling?
