As cute as she poor Marlee is at 11 pm on a Sunday night jumped a fence and got hit by a car last February. She was out in the cold in minus 16 Celsius temperatures. It said that on my car das h. I looked for her for 2 hours...then at sun up for an hour. Humaine society called me at 9 to tell me she was out all night and got hit by a car. The vet told me she broke her jaw and her front right hip is in bad shape. She is missing 2 teeth. Vet told me they were baby teeth but have not grown back by now so probably never will. After 2 weeks limp went away but now it is back. She is just too happy good natured for it to heal. I was giving her one tab of omega 3 but as of last week I upped it to 2 dayly I carry her down stairs and tie her to a rope in my fenced yard so she will not run. Still not enough so ordered glucosamine. Wish her luck if you like her. She is only 9 months old.

Very sorry to hear that, although it so easily could have been much worse. Yeah, keeping a puppy from running and playing is not easy, and it makes you feel like a horrible person. One of our dogs had to have surgery on her hip when she was about 6 months old. We kept her in a pen in the house, and took her on leash every time she needed to go outside. It was a lot of work and very sad, but we all got through it. She is 10 years old now. That leg still "pops" with every step, but it doesn't seem to hurt her or slow her down any.

Best wishes for a full recovery for Marlee.

Day 3 of 25% rec. Amount of glocomicine and nice to see her not limping. I am still giving her 2 omega 3 soft gels dayly. I will do this for a week. Then start reducing to one soft gel dayly. Reduce further week after that and see how it goes. Yaaa for now.

Yes..looking back.. I think she was in pain with her limping. She is so good natured it is hard to tell.. As of yesterday down to one omega 3 soft gel which she will be getting for the rest of her life. Phase out glocomicine?... only time will tell.

We had to give our German shepherd that rimadyl for years. It was the only thing that worked and you could see a markable difference in the way he moved around when we skipped a dose. Good luck with the ongoing recovery.

Thanks. Even in the video when I ask for her first paw she is reluctant. I did not know at the time but she was possibly in pain to do that. Now she does not think twice about giving me her paw. So now she is 10 months old. She is on the 25% of one glucocomine tab dayly recomended amount. She is on 1 omega 3 but some days I give her 2 if I see her limping a bit. I carry her down stairs. I bring her for a 1.5 km about walk almost every day on a short leash. She just jumps around too much and tries too hard to greet people. I told a friend the other day that if she could talk she would invite everybody to party at my place 24/7 she is that much of a no fear party gurl.
