Could any one help me I'm trying to figure out what's the ideal temperature for a mix reef aquarium
I would think just putting the sensor upstream of the heater in the sump would suffice. That way if the return does fail you are still covered from at least overheating your sump.I have in both locations, in-tank, and sump. If the return fails, you will be heating the water in the sump and not the water in your tank, plus you will always have that difference in water temperature as well. Learnt this when I was setting my tank and decided to put one in the tank as well.
Small fluctuations with the apex big fluctuations with the ink-bird and ink-bird probe in the tank.
