Update time!! Lol

Wow it’s been quite a bit of time since I last did an update. I pretty much thought I was going to sell it. But I never took down the system, I sold all the livestock and the last month I’ve been thinking..... Id rather have a pretty tank then no tank while I’m going to HCC. Helps with school stress. So I’m doing a reboot. I just sold off a pair of clowns, and now I need to get some chromis to keep the tank alive. While I clean the heck out of it the next 3 weeks. And I’m also doing a reboot with a purpose to keep it interesting for me.

So I want to see if I can grow sps by just doing weekly waterchanges. Now before I think I can really get anywhere as far as growth I need to get flow, and lighting right.
I’ll have my skimmer, my fuge which consists of 2 mangroves which r growing despite the neglect my tank endured this summer. And chaeto and LR.

For the next 3 weeks I’m going to just be doing weekly maintenance, to get the tank cleaned. Then once my tank stops looking like Galvaston water and more like Fiji water I’ll add in some fish.

For fish I’m going with workers, every fish has a job and hopefully does there job if not they get the boot. Here’s what I’m thinking

- small medium one spot foxface
- small medium tang not sure which one yet.
- yellow corris wrasse
- leopard wrasse

I think that’s it’s i don’t need a butt load of fish. I think 4 fish would be great in this tank.

And I will be recording this as well, and making a cool series as well. When I upload a vid is when I’ll update this thread.

Ok definitely update time! Lol
So the tank is doing good, fish and corals are good. I really need to put my doser back online, with college I’m forgetting to dose everyday. Ya that weekly wc only wasn’t gonna would my all would drop to 6.6 at Times so I have to dose. I’m using fusion right now but may switch over to brightwell. Right now I’m kinda in a dilemma I want to grow sps but with all the time it Takes I don’t have time to baby them. 2 out of the 3 species aren’t doing that great, the acro and a lot of digi frags are browning out. The birdsnest is doing good so I’ll leave it. I think I’m gonna hop on to the zoa craze while I still can. At least they are cool, and grow pretty fast!

Also fish wise I only have 1, a mata tang. Any other fish I put in there he kills. I left him to have the tank on his own for too long. So what I wanna do is build a mesh lid make sure it’s secured and I want to add in an eel! Just a snowflake. I’ve had one before and I love them. I know that means my tank will become a bit dirtier but from my understand that’s what zoas like?

Update time!! Can’t believe it’s been since Nov.2019 since the last time I posted here. The tank has changed I’ll be honest I don’t remember all of the changes but I like where I’m at with the tank and now I’m more responsible to keep up with it. I tried sps and I’ll be honest I miss my sps but like me being a lazy teenager I stopped caring about my tank and they all died. And lost $125 of corals sorry dad. But now I have my own job and I pay for my tank myself. So no more corals or fish are allowed to die 😂. Here’s my stock so far and what I plan to add.
Fish-
Hippo tang
Yellow tang
Sixline wrasse
Snowflake clown
Wyoming white clown
Blue spotted watchman - aka Juan
Springeri damsel
Inverts
Paul the cleaner shrimp
Derasa clam
Corals
Green toadstool from @reeftopia
Red pink goni
Greenish goni
And a Rainbow acan that will not die 😂 ( look at top down shot)

As far as fish I feel like I’m maxed out but I want to add either an Anthias or a flame angel. Corals I’m gonna get more lps mainly hammers and torches. I also want to have all the tridacna clam species. And really any other coral that i like. I want to have a full Reef by the end of this year tired of starting at algae and rocks.

for chemistry wise I’m going to rock with kalk then go to a calcium reactor when I get more of a Reef going. I am currently daily dosing Po4 and let me say my corals love that I’m doing that for them. I’m going to put it on a doser so I’m consistent.

lastly the theme for this season of Reefing for me is consistency, both with my tanks (I added a 10g species only tank I can do a separate build thread on that as well) and with my Youtube channel. I enjoy the whole process creating content but what gets me are distractions like Netflix.

ok now time for some pics enjoy!
Happy Reefing!

Yeah I’d say your tank is maxed out on fish for sure. Just get a 200+ gallon tank and be done with it!!!

Put one up on raffle at a marsh event ill
Win it! 😂 but I am thinking of buying one of those stock tanks and make my water volume bigger, so I can have more fish and eventually more space for coral when I get them growing crazy. Idk just some thoughts.
