Since 2008 the People of Norway have given 1.2 billion and the people of Germany 68 million to the Amazon Fund. Amazon rain forest produces 20% of the oxygen we breath and is called the lungs of the Earth. The Amazon fund helps preserve the forest from human destruction. Up to a couple of weeks ago it was making a difference but now the poor Amazon is a blaze. Funds from Norway and Germany are now frozen in protest. Canada has lots of water bombers along with your country. It is a high ranking political group decision but I say use that money and possibly others to put out the fires of destruction...... Bring on the Water Bombers.

With the Amazon Rain forest producing 20% of the oxygen we breath. It is slowing down global warming thus helping to preserve our coral reefs from getting too warm and dieing off.

This is a pretty interesting video on the subject.

Seems the fires are mostly on agricultural land that contains little to no trees. The fires were set purposely by farmers. Its a seasonal thing, really.
The media in this country is garbage as far as conveying truthful information.

Just another example of the typical person nowadays being ignorant and incapable of searching out factual data and naive enough to believe what they read on social media.

That is what I thought on the utube post above he even say it is bad. Just look at all the yellow burning fires out of control on the map. They whole world is upset about what is happening in our planets Amazon Rain Forest. On Canadian news last night there is even talk about a coalation of countries just going ahead and putting out the fires anyways. It is too early for this to happen yet but talk of this happening has begun.

Just read the article... my puter says it just came out 6 hours ago.... so you are right then let it burn. .... the article does say "Amazon Rain Forest makes a significant contribution to pulling CO2 out of the atmosphere`` Where I live we get 3 months of what you would call summer and 9 months of what you would call winter... to extreme winter..... So of course Canada being the second coldest country on the planet loves and will stick up for the Amazon rain forest. ... peace :D

Don't know why the media likes to blow things up. Love the rainforest been there numerous times so I was researching whats going on.
There is actually fewer fires than the last couple of years. When I was down there people were clear cutting everything and then torching them.
So sad to see a tree 10 ft across 200 ft tall being wasted.
