Hey Chris, there is 80lbs of sand. It's a perfect amount and as for the rock work plenty of hiding spots .
Porcelain crabs, nems, pistol shrimp. Depending on what type of crustaceans. But those would definitely cool.

Ok let me see what I can get!! The only thing with the pistol shrimp is they will continue to excavate the sand under the rocks until they are sitting on the bottom glass I just want to make sure it doesn't make the rocks fall over or anything. I won't keep anything I don't think is reef safe!!

Update !!!

Hey guys , this project hasnt been forgotten! I have been by every week if not every other week to check and top off tank. With all the flood , it has slowed things down and also funding is dry . Working to find more sponsors to get the livestock going . I have a few people that have reached out to donate corals .
If you have softies, LPs that you don't particularly care for. Or wanting to trim let me know. I am wanting to try to try to fill this tank up , not completely but at least have it more presentable.

Currently waiting for a protein skimmer to come in. Upgraded to a reef octopus 200int . Also donating my Ato pump which would save me on the frequent trips.

UPDATE!!!

Tank has been going thru really bad green hair algae blooms. Have been removing manually and completly removed but quickly came back within few weeks. Unable to place a protein skimmer underneath for proper nutrient exports. Using a HOB currently but definitely not able to keep up with this massive tank. Reason is stand sits pretty low which prevents placing the proper skimmer in. Low stand and plumbing makes it very hard to work around.

Plan currently is to go back to drawing board and potentially start all over. Get rid of this tank and see If we are able to get another tank. If anyone has any suggestions let me know. We have lost quite a few fish and corals.

What about putting calurpa in to compete? Do you have any fish that might eat the algae like a lawnmower blenny?

Hi Everyone , I have been MIA from the hobby and marsh for awhile. Tank is doing better, fighting with bryopsis at the moment.
One of the students from The Hub works for David @ Urban Aquatics on sundays. Ask him about the tank he will be thrilled that you asked him. Also you will be stunned by the knowledge he has for the reefing hobby. Livestock is running thin at the moment. Wanting to fight off bryopsis first before introducing more into the tank.

I was going to suggest getting an external skimmer if you have room behind the tank. Maybe look for an old PM bullet 1 or 2. they just need a mag drive to work.

we have done a dose of fluconazole already. Have done water changes but this stuff is pretty tough to get rid of.
tank has a in sump skimmer. This tank truly just needs a make over but the funds to do that's not possible. Welcome to have 2nd opinion for whoever that has time to come check out the tank.

Bryopsis sucks... Not as bad as dinoflagellates but its up there.. Have you tried pulling the rocks and scrubbing them, then rinsing in fresh saltwater before returning to tank? Maybe followed with another fluconazole treatment.

Are you doing any type of "carbon" dosing? Well I guess what I'm thinking.. do you have any detectable nitrate/phosphates?
