What going on? Just saw this as I walked by my tank. I dipped and cut the healthy heads and put on its own frag.

The heads that no longer attached is in a shroom box. I put some rocks near it. Maybe it can attached and survive.

Any help would be appreciated.

Get those shrooms out of that box. Otherwise you risk losing everything in the box

Did it make it? I'm wondering if your routine maintenance isn't killing the bad bacteria, but instead letting it get immune to it.... chemiclean has erythromycin in it so it kills both good and bad bacteria. I still believe its something viral as many reefers are going through this... me included.

Yeah, I thought about that too. I'm going to stop dosing it going forward and monitor. However, I believe my negligence caused this though. I recently purchased a magnetic stirrer for Kalk dosing to raise pH, but I guess it worked too well. It dose pure Kalk instead of the "clear" water after mixing. My Alk jumped as a result.

Spike in ALK very likely cause.
