Doing maintenance in the frag tank, I noticed a bunch of these eggs on the frag rack as well as a couple frag plugs.
Any idea what laid them?

Don't know for sure, but I hope you can keep them so we can find out what they turn into. Maybe some sort of snail? The fact that each sac contains a string of little things and one bigger central thing makes me wonder if they even are eggs. They sort of remind me of a medusa stage of a hydroid that I had many years ago, although if they haven't gotten up and moved by now that's probably not it.

I probably will hold on to a few out of curiosity.
Posted it on r2r as well and a lot of people guessed different snails. I don't have any of the ones that lay those bubble type eggs so who knows.

There are some newly laid eggs on the glass of the same tank that I was able to get a macro shot of.
These look quite different than the ones that were on the frag rack in my original post, but because of the bubble they're contained in, are similar.
These new pictures resemble columbellid snail eggs pretty closely, but there are some differences. I know for a fact there are no columbellid snails in this tank, so it must be something else.
Still very confused.

It appears that these are Nassarius snail eggs. Doesn't match the pictures that I've seen on Google exactly, but close enough i guess

Wow! Let us know if they survive... if you ever get overrun, I'll be happy to take some :)

Any updates on the mystery eggs? Did either type have viable babies?

I haven't seen any babies from the eggs, thought I havent looked too closely in a while. I will take a look when i get home and update if there is anything exciting to share.
The tank in which they were found is now fishless, so definitely a better opportunity for the eggs to hatch.
