We'll see if this thread helps keeps me accountable, since Waterbox is already trying to do that by getting me a tank so dang quick.

Decided to upgrade from my ~35 gallon Red Sea AIO (almost 10 years old) and was stuck between the Waterbox and ordering from Planet. Decided I didn't like the pricing, nor did I want to wait 6-8 weeks for Planet. Ordered the Waterbox on Tuesday because it dropped in price a bit and its gonna be here on Friday . I didn't expect it to be that quick so now I am trying to start planning a bit.

I got their 150.4 (48x25x21") along with a screen top and Sicce SDC 7.0, so at the very least I should be able to get it filled and start cycling.

Where is everyone at on somewhat budget lighting currently? I liked the Reefbreeders 48" but it looks like they aren't making them anymore, just refurbished ones. Other options I have seen lately are the NooPsyche and NICREW. I have two MarsAqua black box lights that I can use for a while at least.

I've had this thing for years (like, probably approaching 10) and never used it. I don't see a model number or anything on it, can anyone school me on how to use this in my sump? Or should I just get a new one?

At this point I'd recommend a new skimmer. It looks like a modified recirculating skimmer and for the tank size seems smaller than what I'd go.

Dumb fake flower niche thing, yeet.

Tank is in and wet! Only like 2 more days of water making to go. I really need to get a larger reservoir.

Also, giving the Jebao gyre a shot. This thing is awesome so far, it can make some WAVES especially with only 8" of water in there.

These packaged tanks should really come with in cabinet lighting pre-installed. Either way, ill consider it a productive lunch break getting things lit up.

I used these

Space in these stands its fairly minimal. Between the hinges and the top off container I have about 5" to work with.

So here is a prototype controller board (out of old presentation foam board) that I am pretty happy with. Tweaked a few things to make the switchboard sit back flush and am ready to make one from plywood on the CNC!

My lights are coming in on Friday so I will probably wait so I can lay out the controllers before I cut it.

First fish (yellowhead butterfly) added on Saturday, eating like a champ. Will give it a week or two before I start moving other fish over (yellow coris, melanurus, clown pair)

Rock at this point is probably 50/50 new to live from my upgrade tank. Pods starting to establish a little bit already, dosing bacteria through yesterday and adding some phyto here and there.

Ended up getting the 6" Reef Octopus Classic skimmer. Got the controller board finished, still think I am gonna try and build a side cabinet at some point. Once I get to the point of needing to dose I won't have much if any room for that as it stands.

Otherwise, everything going swimmingly! Just added a longnose hawk last week and it now lives in the gorgonian which is neat.

Tank looked good yesterday, finally starting to get some coralline spreading. I repurposed my old red sea 130 stand for a side cabinet since the main stand was so claustrophobic. I need to touch up that old stand from crappy MDF moisture damage, should be easy enough to hide.

I moved the ATO tank out of the main stand and added a dosing pump for All For Reef (for now) and eventually need to look into moving (or lengthening?) my gyre wire because its obviously not in a great spot. Oh well.
