Is it me or why would anyone buy bubble algae? Many people want to get rid of this nuisance

That is like the worst crap on the planet. I shut a tank down behind that junk.

The sad thing is some newbies may buy this thinking its some awesome macroalgae and wreck their tank. I have some in my tank as well but luckily my foxface rabbit keeps it in check.

Wow, I need to start my own Ebay store. I've got plenty of bubble algae, and I bet I could get a fortune for my awesome dinos!

The funny thing is, non-reefers often think the bubble algae is really cool.

Run some Waste Away, remove macros, > NO3/PO4 and throw a large UV on and blow the rocks off daily to fight the Dino’s. When it’s suspended in the water column the UV makes quick work of it.

Did you remove your skimmer frank? Thats what really helped me. Still have some blooms sometimes but it helped dirty my tank up.

I don't have an official algae filter, but my 150g, the tank with the bubble algae, has a whole lot of Halimeda growing in the tank which keeps the water crystal clear, and the rocks are fairly clean, but there is the bubble algae.

I did leave the skimmer off for a good while at first, since that's what worked the first time I had dinos, and I even tried dosing nitrate, but it didn't seem to work this time. The extra challenge is that tank also has lots of hair algae, which is generally treated by lowering nutrients, and I have not been successful at lowering and raising them at the same time. I have been dosing Vibrant for a while, and that is slowly cutting down the amount of both types of algae.
