I've just started using the aquamend putty from Home Depot I'll let you know how it works, I was also using the quick tite gel but it's 5 bucks a bottle, so I'm trying out a new gel, it comes in a two pack, the packing was green. Sorry I can't remember the name, I'll have to look at home.

I've used lots of different kinds of superglue. Never had any negative effects from any of them.

SPS do you just Super Glue it to the rocks? I was planing on finding a hole then sticking the frag in with super glue. I guess you use epoxy for LPS? What about zoos that hace polyps reaching out from the bottom glue or epoxy?
Dumb questions I know but I finally have got the lights I am sticking with and the frags I am going to keep. Yesterday was a bad day as I was re-aquasaping to fit in my new frags and colonies and I melted down. I could not make the rocks fit in a new way and work or even remember how they used to fit. This morning I was finally able to finalize the aquascaping and it actually is better than before so now everything is getting put into place where the buldozing turbos can't knock it down.

I used the aquamend sticks from home depot and the super glue gel from home depot with no ill effects. I think when you use the aquamend or any epoxy it will make your skimmer go nuts. I like the epoxy for sticking rocks in place so snails can't bulldoze them over. Plus if you use just a small amount it holds great but can be broken free by hand if you need to move it. I use superglue gel for small rubble to rock and for frags like some leathers/zoos etc. You can also use the old needle and thread trick for soft corals. HTH

I just fragged some Zoa polyps that were "wandering" onto new rubble. I snipped them off with scissors and used Super Glue Gel to affix them to the rubble. An hour later, they are almost all open. :)

The SG Gel is easy to work with.
