I have a 10g reef that is doing great. I am running 2 18w CF fixtures, a 10g HOB filter and 2 high flow powerheads. I add calcium, strontium, iodide and trace elements once a week. My LR is getting more colorful by the day. all my specs (ie. ammonia, nitrates and nitrites) are perfect. i currently have 2 grn mushrooms, a candy cane coral (that is not doing well) and a brown and green colony polyp. my only fish right now is a algae blenny that is doing great and is keeping my green hair algae nicely trimmed. it has been set up for about a month.

I really don't know what to add right now and i am trying to populate my tank and make it look better that it already does. What types of coral would do good in this tank and what fish will be good that will not increase my bioload too much?

thanks for all your ideas

I thonk your candy can may not be recieving the right kind of light. LPS corals do best with some actinic supplemental light. What temp spectrums are you using on your fixtures? This is truely important to what you will be able to put in your nano

are you testing for calcium and idonine? you can be over doising those to in a nano. Are you feeding any thing? what kind of water do you use? somthing is feeding the Hair alage.

Are you testing for calcium strontium and iodide and trace elements? If not, stop adding them, or at least go to once a month. Trace elements(including strontium and iodide) are easily be replenished with a water change. Same for calcium with your light coral load. A lot of trace elements added regularly will get toxic to your tank and it is a good rule of thumb to only add what you can test. Not trying to sound harsh or anything, just what I have seen or heard about adding trace elements.
