set up

pretty sure this is how it goes.... pretty tight fit... I think I am gonna cut a hole for the pump to get fresh air... cool it a little better... going to replace the tubing for the UV maybe get an elbow on there.. Here is a good question.... should I fill it up with tap water and do a leak test before I invest in the salt water.... or is that a waste of good tap water? Or is there a trick to testing without filling the tank?

well folks we got water.. we got circulation, sand, and live rock, and several other goodies... one tiny leak... in the plumbing... Easy fix.. water cloudy because of new sand mix.. been watching it for over an hour and the water level seems consistant.. not more going in than is coming out... checked it with the pump off.. no over flow on sump.. looks like all systems go..

You are not done spending money yet. You will be buying a bigger tank soon, changing light fixtures, buying a better skimmer, and so on...

Look into buying a RO/DI unit, it will make your life easier. One of the sponsors here (Buckeye) sells a decent size for about $150-170 and it's worth every penny.

Good Luck!

here is a good question... I have billions of micro bubbles... makes the tank cloudy.. I ask someone about it.. they said my skimmer was not adjusted.. turn the skimmer off and wait 20 minutes and see if the bubble disappear.. just water circulation thru the pump system... I did that about an hour ago... the sump is crystal clear were as before it was full of micro bubbles..... but I still have a tremendious flow of micro bubble coming from the return.. it looks like dust.. but it is bubbles... I can turn the whole thing off and it clears up..... is it an airleak in the system? I have no clue... been studing it for a while to see what could cause the bubbles... I'm stumpped...

slowly the bubbles are coming out.. but I do think I have a air leak source before the pump... could be in the overflow.. (vortexing) here is so far...

and thank you for all the suggestions... I really appreciate it... I will get there... fun so far...
