It’s alive because it retracts when I shine a light on it. And the other day something stringy was coming off one of them.

Looks like a tube worm to me, I remove them myself cause I feel that stringy thing is stealing life from the corals around it.

Aren't they like mini feather dusters? I have some too. They don't bother me

I agree to try to remove it or kill it, especially when it is located among corals like that. The small ones can multiply like crazy and soon your rocks are totally covered.

It's hard to tell if that is one of the ones that stays small or if it would get bigger, but either way it will bother those corals.

I have one that is about a half inch diameter and several inches long that I've had for several years as a pet, but I'm not normal. The big ones don't seem to multiply readily and they're kind of interesting.

Agree they are harmless. Only thing I dislike is that their shells or whatever you call it can be very sharp and slice your hand if you brush against it.

Just take something hard (I use a concrete screw that is coated) and smash it at the base to kill the snail... they spread like weeds.
