I usually get Instant Ocean but some times other stuff is a lot cheaper. I have never had any regrets. But I do stay with hardy fish and corals only. This is what I got as the cheapest last Late December. How is that for a fancy bucket.

The secret to success in life is to never try. If you never try then you’ll never fail. Also, set your standards very low. That way you’re sure to achieve them and always be a success!
You must need the little bucket to start out with... still cool! 20210815_150618.jpg

Read the bucket. It is the most concentrated. Does 120 us gallons. I only do 15 gallon partial water changes every 1.5 months. I like to keep my two hang on the back filters always running. One I have had since around1994

I have tried almost all of them and they all work. In the past year and a half I have gone from Fritz to Brightwell to Instant Ocean and on the IO now. I have a bucket of Tropic Marin Pro salt that is next to get used. They all seemed to mix well...the IO was a little more work to match my alk level (8.5) but the price was right! I have used Red Sea Blue and hw Marine mix in the past and still not stuck on just one brand. I typically only change about 20% once a month.

I agree.

Stick with a decent salt and don’t change it. Pick one close to your parameters if possible.

If you’re cheap like me, Buy IO and drop the dKH with Seachem Acid Buffer or Sodium Bisulfate. Works well and is easy to do. I just get it ready the day before the water change so I can let the pH and perhaps oxygen regulate before I add it to the system.

Or just get a daily AWC system and rock the reef crystals, duh! Pump that alk up, baby!

Reef Crystals for about 20-30 yrs. Getting old & memory aint what it used to be

Me too....reef crystals for many years. I did use red sea for a few years but did not notice any difference so went back to reef crystals. Why pay twice as much if not getting any better resutls.

I think most of the time the issue is water quality not salt.

Hey Andy - where have you been man. Welcome back!!!

I just opened up my bucket of Aquavitro. Not sure how good it is yet but they get my vote for Best Bucket. Screw on top with gasket. I will be keeping it cus I often get just a box of salt in a bag. I do not go through a lot of salt so hard to keep it fresh.

I am impressed with Aqua Vitro ... I do just have basic corals but after just a 13 percent partial water change my corals look like they just got a shot of Viagra. Lol.

Tm pro. Alk is close to what I run and is consistent. I’m going reefers moonshiners soon so no more water changes for a while.
