What new relatively inexpensive toy should I get? I haven’t gotten something interesting in a while. What new piece of equipment have you gotten that you’re in love with? What are you wanting to get next?

This is my favorite toy right now. Cheap, effective, will save your life. Has all 7 channels of NOAA. Public alerts. Video to come soon. Lol

I have one in the living room and just bought another for the bedroom.

Trilingual? What are the other two languages?

I got one of those battery jumpers the others day. Tested it out and they work GREAT! Also, anyone with solid floors like hardwood, laminate, tile, etc. absolutely needs a Roomba. I debated getting one for years. I immediately saw how amazing the are this year after I bought one.

A Roomba has been the single biggest quality of life improvement a piece of technology has ever made to my life. We have a Neato one which use the LIDAR and have the D shape for getting into corners better, amazing! And still running strong now like 4-5 years later. Def thinking of upgrading to one of the new ones that auto empty after cleaning.

I got an ice cream maker with a compressor recently, not one of those freezer bowl ones. After a bit of a learning curve I get near commercial quality texture at home, it is miles better than the bowls and way more convenient when the urge to make ice cream hits.

That was the next toy I was going to list that I got! My wife and I had debated about getting one of those for a couple years. Got one recently and it has changed our lives. So great at cleaning so effortlessly!

Having said all that, I was originally referring to reef toys when I made this post. I love the suggestions but I’ll have to move it to The Lounge if we keep doing non-reef stuff where the conversation can continue!

Not exactly new but this is my favorite "toy". Use this thing daily since I got it to check my coral and take it with me when I buy coral. You can easily see a lot of pests and health issues with these that you can't see in regular lighting and only 25 bucks.

Ya I wall is nice and when I set mine up my gf at the time really wanted me to put it in the wall. I had the perfect spot for it cus I have a huge closet between my living area and bedroom. I was concerned about mold build up?

Have you got a fish pond? They are fun and not a lot of work at all. But can be if you want it to be.

Have an Octopus as a pet. They do not live long but still fun to have. If you bend down and stare at them they will look up and stare back. Not always but some times.

I did the octopus thing 25 years ago. There are threads on it here. I had to travel to Toronto to get them. 3 hours away. But I liked the drive so all good. YOU DEFINATELY need it well covered. If you are serious about having one let me know before you get one and I will fill you in. They only live for around 2 years.

The top must be secured with ratchet straps. 😅

Naa they are small for home aquarium. I think they live in Florida and Mediterranean area. Probably all over. If you see one you want to buy we can start an octapus thread. Few months ago a guy from marsh or a guest had one. It only lasted a few days from what I remember. I had 5 I think??? 1 at a time.. I also think the longest I had one was 11 months as a guess. I had mine in a 55 gallon with other fish. I think they should be in their own tank. I fed mine every day or at least tried to.
