I love those overflow tanks like that. They are gorgeous, and the corals look incredible since the water surface appears perfectly smooth.

I wonder, though, how hard it is to keep algae off the glass... both inside and out.

Nice tank :) What is the tank sitting on and where does the water overflow on the sides to? Does what the tank actually sits on get water damage from the water spilling over? Move pics of the setup :)

I've got an idea, Kim!

Y'all take him on a collecting expedition and I'll raid... hmm, I mean babysit his tanks while you're gone.

the construction is straight forward. just 1/2" acrylic glued at the seams and polished on the top edges inside and out. the braces on the bottom (check link that incysor posted for pics) are just 1/2" acrylic strips cut 1" tall and used as a riser to lift the bottom of the tank for the water flow. there is also a 1" tall ring in the center used as a divider for the return. the bottom box is made out of 1/4" smoked acrylic for the sides and the bottom is 1/2" with 2 3/4" bulkhead returns that flow water to the sump.

i mainly built the tank as a challange, and now that the challange is over i'm think'n about sell'n it.
but the g/f loves it so... u kno how that goes. hehe

but if u have anymore questions feel free to ask
