They bury in the sand and Ive seen them literally erupt from underneath and swallow whole snails and any other edible invertebrates.

Ive caught them before in Mississippi beaches but never knew what they were. Anyone know?

They look like stomatellas but I don't think they bury in the sand. I would pass on anything that aggressive.

Olive snails!!

I have a 2 inch one in my reef. The one I have is a lettered olive from Fla.

I feed it twice a week with fleshy food. Ive never witnessed any agressive behavior. It tills a tremendous amount of sand at night.

My friend has 4 of them in his QT and they are amazing to watch.

He's kept his with snails and hermits and they dont bother them.

They had some of those at Planet Fish a while back and when we picked one up out of the water to look at it, it spit out a Sea hare it was trying to take in or digest. Was really creepy, thought it was having a babey or something LOL but yea they are aggressive and can eat softer inverts don't know about other snails though.
