I'm surprised that nobody knows that.
It' pretty simple and it works as a in tank treatment as well.
We all know how to test in order to see the difference between cyano and spirulina............ now do we??
Once you found out you can start treatment with h2o2 to battle your cyano's in your tank with peroxide.
In order to go about with corals you use a slightly stronger formula and your fish and mechanical filtration does the rest.
Oh ouch............ it doesn't really work on AEFW for a in tank treatment due to a heavier dose needed and will kill off all bacteria and inverts but it does on any other kind of FW like the planeria.
For AEFW you need to QT corals and dip Bayer on a five day schedule for at least 6 weeks or go with the peroxide dip.
Just think about that the heavier dose with peroxide can damage acro's as why is recommend the Bayer dip less aggressive on acro's.
I use the peroxide to weaken the AEFW and with the next Bayer dip as I use half of the recommended formula you'll kill off the bastarts.
Btw, you know a constant dose of peroxide is beneficial for the tank in it's whole as it is basically a oxidizer and with the use of barley in the sump it will create MNB which promote water clarity and reduces algae growth.
It's a really old recipe in order to fight string and HA in ponds, just add some barely in a fast moving water area, stream or waterfall.
BTW, if you wanna go a step further in order to use a photochemical production H2o2 you use the decomposition of Barley, Rice and Wheat straw. (thank you Cruz)
