Hello All and Happy New Year,

I was at Costco on I10 yesterday and saw a 6500k 65Watt PC light for $20. Has anyone else seen or purchased this lights? It may be a good refugium light.

On a similar note, does anyone know where to buy LOA PC lights? Home Depot and/or Lowes does not carry them. I have one but I bought it almost a year ago while I was in Boston.

Cheers

HomeDepot carries Lumark CoolLux lights which are 6500K and are the same as the LOA lights.

cohiba,

Who manufactures the light? Is it just the bulb
or is there a fixture with a built in ballast?

I use the Lights of America 9200 series FloureX
flood light which covers 2580 sq. ft.

Stuart, I can't remember the manufacturer (I didn't actually buy one). However, it is an entire fixture intended as a work light. The bulb in on a mongul base just like the one on a MH bulb. It does have a 6500K stamped on the bulb. I was thinking that if it didn't work out as a refugium light that I could use it as a MH fixture because it has an internal reflector, but it's made out of plastic. I don't know if it will hold up with the high them of MH.

I also use a LOA flourex lights for my refugium. I bought it almost 2 years ago so I'm thinking that the it may go out anytime now.

Shane, thanks for the warm welcome. I've been lurking in Marshreef for a while now but just now posted. I wanted to join MARSH but with my schedule, I probably will never be able to attend any of the meetings.

Cheers,
