Starting a 3g tank as your very first tank will require alot of work. I don't know how much research you have done, but 3g will leave you no room for error, and you won't have alot of choice for fish/inverts. I know people hate starting out wiht a big tank because they aren't into the hobby yet, but I would go with at least an 8gal Biocube, or there are JBJ cubes, or Aquapods. I know there are a few Biocube 14 gallons for sale in the WTS forum. So unless your SET on doing a pico, I would go bigger, and work your way down to smaller tanks as you get experience. :] Starting small scares alot of people out of this hobby because they can not get their params to be right and get frustrated. There are some amazing picos out there, but most the poeple caring for them are very educated on saltwater tanks. Good luck on your future tank! :]
