We just booked our tickets to Bonaire for Oct 6-13. Now we need to figure the rest out. I have some questions, since we've never been there...

1) Place to stay with kitchen, preferably stand alone condo or house or something...okay if part of a group of places, but just not hotel like. Any ideas? $700-900 or so for the week and clean. Other than that we're not terribly fussy. Maybe not right in town though... we'd love an ocean view! :)

2) Snorkelling...neither of us dive. Where are the good spots?

3) Sailing... can you rent small boats anywhere?

4) Other tidbits of where to go or what to do?

Thanks everyone! We are SOOO excted!

There are tons of condos there. I think I stayed at the sundancer. It was nice but not fancy

This would be a great time to learn to Dive. Most of the reefs are in deep water. I would check out the mangroves national park. I think you can snorkel there

go kayaking in the magrove park. Check out the salt lakes. Chek out the shoreline. The rough side has cool rock formations

I am jellous!!!!! I had fun when I was there.

You must check out the donkey preserve when you go. It is a lot of fun. just take some apples to feed them. they make for great photo ops, but beware, they will chase down your vehicle once they know you have food! and dont be fooled by the donation box at the entrance. there is a building where you pay a small entry fee after the donation box.

I've stayed at the Sand Dollar twice, and would again.

Bonaire is unique in that nearly every bit of the reef is accessible with a short swim from shore. Coral starts at the shoreline.
