First off let me say hello to the MARSH Forum. I was directed to the site from fellow members on Nano-Reef.com for something a little more local, in hopes of meeting people in state who are in the hobby, as well as once I have everything up and running being able to purchase frags from people in state. I'm from McAllen, Texas and after being away from the hobby for about a year as things grew increasingly stressful in school, I'm back and ready to get another tank up and running. I've been shopping around for a few weeks on what equipment I'll be using and this time I decided not to cut corners on the important things. So here's my proposed setup.
(found bulkhead and Sump design on the google sketch up site.)
15 Gallon Custom from Micro-Reefs. Built in overflow and dual return setup plumbed to a 22 gallon Sump/Refugium below my desk where the tank will be held.
This brings me up to about 25-37 gallons, which is the biggest I've ever done.
Lighting:
Nano Sol
Equipment:
ProFlex 22 Gallon Sump
Coralife Protein Skimmer
I'm still trying to find a suitable return pump as well as wether to go with a loc-line flared nozzle for the returns or to give these guy's a try. Since the tank will take about 3 week's to be made and shipped. I'll be seeding some old LR I was able to get my hands on as well as about 15-20 lbs of Marco Dry rock from Premium Aquatics to fill out the tank and sump. For Livestock at the moment, I've only decided on a Yellow Clown Goby and a pair of Harlequin Shrimp which I'll keep their Starfish in the sump.
Hopefully these next few weeks fly by! I can't wait to get things set up and on the way.
Here are a few pics.
Old LR I got ahold of (about 20 lbs). After a thorough cleaning they'll be seeding in a 30 gallon bucket with a few maxijet's till the tank arrives.I'll also be adding the dry rock as soon as it gets here. The towel is supposed to be the tanks footprint, ehh it was close.
And where the tank and sump will be.
I'll be posting pictures of the tank when It arrives in a few weeks alongside the process of seeding my LR and equipment updates when the packages come in. Thanks!
Any suggestions or comments are gladly welcome!
