What are these in the middle of the picture? I have them popping up all over the tank. Anyone know what they are? (not the GSP :p)

Yeah, I know all about the hair algae in the tank.
I meant the things being pointed at by arrows in the picture below.

I have a stray one pop up now and then. People kill them lots of ways, and I tried lots - Aiptasia-X is the best I have tried so far. At the very least, it comes with a great applicator you can use later.

They are hydroid worms and can bother coral. I have some take out a frag of zoas.

You can breah them off, crush them with a finger nail, or glue them shut.

Thanks. Does anything eat them? I am considering taking rocks out to give them a good scrub ("de-algaeification" if you will) and will get these too if I do that. They're everywhere & spreading.

Nothing that I know of. That doesn't mean there isn't something out there though. :)

Good luck!

They are quite difficult to get rid of, and can cause real issues in a tank with corals. Often need pretty robust management, like manually pulling off, using glue, etc. They look small but believe me, really pack a significant sting. Don't let it get too far before addressing it.
