What do you use to browse the net? I'm still on IE 6 and don't want to upgrade to IE 7. Am thinking of maybe using some other browser like firefox. Any suggestions?

Leslea as a person that installs & repairs AT&T DSL I allways advise people to try & not use IE6 & 7 as alot of viruses attach to that browser. I have found out the firefox is a good one to use.
If you like you can google web browsers & try all the ones out there to find the one you like best.

The only problem is that I don't want to clog up the computer with multiple browers to test out.

Firefox is the best way to go, I've been using it since v0.9 :D. You can download it here;

Firefox

Here are a couple of "addons" that I would also like to recommend.

IE tab - When you absolutely have to use IE
and
Tabbrowser Preferences
There are many many other addons out there so have some fun and take a look around, they are easy to both add and disable if needed.

Firefox is one of the safest browsers out there, it by far out shines IE7. But as far as "hackers" are concerned then you windows is what you need to button up with an email scanner and a second party firewall. For email you can't beat SpamPal, for anti-virus AVG, and for a firewall there's Zonealarm and the sweet thing about them is they are all free :D.

I like Firefox and am using it right now. For some reason when I upgraded to IE7 Marsh will sometimes cash my computer :eek: I think I have some plug in or some thing that is causing a conflict. I like Firefox better anyways

I use both. IE for "safe" browsing (sites that Im familiar with), and Firefox for surfing (everything else). Although no browser is truly "invincible," IE seems more vulnerable to junk. Of course certain sites are written with IE in mind, and wont display correctly on firefox. Since theres no way to be 100% covered, you definitely want decent spam/virus scanners. I use multiple programs, since they all use different sets of definitions (and detect different things).

Ok, downloaded Firefox and got the tab thing going. Only problem is, when I open a new tab, it comes up blank. Is there a way to set it so when a new tab opens, it goes directly to my home page like you can set it on IE?

Tools > Options > Tabbed Browsing > User Interface...Under "New Tab Button" Select "Browser Homepage". However, and this is just an FYI, if you center click on whatever bookmark you want to open it will automatically open in a new tab.
