hi all

i have two kessil a360w e-series lights over my reeftank, together with a kessil timer. they have been wonderful so far and give a great, powerful light. one of them no longer works. no fan, no light.

interesting enough, when i measure the ac adapter outlet (female) plug, it shows 19v, then i plug in the faulty light, nothing happens. measuring that female plug immediately again it shows zero volts (as if a short in the light disrupted that transformer for a moment?). i have to unplug the transformer for a minute or so, replug, it shows 19v again. the transformer would drive the other light just fine, but not the broken one.

anybody has an idea how to repair that light? i looked for a fuse (which i would expect such a sophisticated device to have) but could not see anything obvious, nor does the manual say anything about it.

It sounds like the overcurrent protection of the power supply is kicking in. If so, that is indicating a shorted light. Disclaimer: I have no experience with this particular light, nor its power supply, I'm just taking a SWAG. It's probably a good idea to contact the manufacturer and discuss repairs.

Thanks will give a ring to Kessil and see what they can do...

Looks like it won't work anytime soon :(
Let me know if you have one (or tow) that you want to sell
