I really like the look also, but I am going to do an RDSB. They are a lot easier to clean. All of my detritus settles in one spot in the front of the tank then I just vacuum it right out with no hassle.

I hope you don't mind if I chime in w/ a different point of view. I am not that into bare bottomed tanks so have a different opinion to the others. It's not necessarily bad, just different.

In any case, to get on to the point - fungia and trachyphilia usually live on sand, or in extreme cases, on coral rubble. (I have some good diving photo examples at home). So putting them on glass just seem kind of weird to me.

Cheers
James

I do agree with you james, I thought that I would try it out to see how it goes. So far it is doing really well. I have seen others established tanks that have had them on a piece of rock for years wich isnt a whole lot different from the glass.

My 75g gal sump is in my garage, wich reminds me I was going to take some pics of that side of the tank to post. I have really been fighting this cold weather I think I am up to 1300+ watts of heaters in the sump but I should be able to take a few of those out soon.

wow, I've only got 400watts of heaters in my ~140 gallons and it hasnt been an issue (it's all in my garage).

I've kinda been wondering if it wouldn't be worth it to go through and check the accruacy of the heaters' individual settings.

I'm not sure I follow, but I don't use the heaters' controllers personally. I have them plugged into an Aquacontroller 3, with three individual temperature sensors to give me a good data spread.

He doesn't have a controller so the best that we could do would be to use a couple thermometers and a bucket of cool water for each heater to get them dialed in to eachother. He plans on adding a controller for safety, but I do the aforementioned method anyway for an extra facet of redundancy.
