I have a 215g mixed reef tank. I am currently running t5 bulbs now. I have been running this light setup for almost a year. I have seen other tanks with metal halide's. I have been tossing around the thought of switching over. I wouldn't know where to start, or even what would be best or ok for my tank. Any info would be great.

Tank size is 72x24x28, has canopy but i will have to make bigger or go with out.

I'm in the exact same predicament...I've herd you can get better colors and growth with halides, but they give off alot of heat & use alota electricity.

Seems that most folks are moving to led from halide and t5 on new setups.

Have you given led any thoughts?
