I'd like everyone to take a moment this weekend to recognize the actual meaning of Memorial Day. Regardless of our political beliefs, please don't lose site of the fact that there are thousands of our brave men and women fighting. Thousands have died, I'm sure many more will follow.

As a former Navy corpsman, and someone who has two brothers in the fight as we speak, I don't overlook the dangers that these great souls hae volunteered for.

Please teach your kids about the honor, courage, and commitment which leads our country. As we go on with our barbeques and fishtanks this weekend, remember to take a moment and remember all those who have fallen before us.

Jared...Jason...whatever you're doing right now...as I always tell you...stay safe, keep your head down, and hurry home. We love ya.

Semper Fi! I did a year in Iraq, and I know what those guys go through and their families. They are always in my prayers.

Whether you agree of disagree with polticians our military protects us all. We owe our military of today and the military of our past to our freedom which we take for granted way too often. Thank you for those who have chosen to serve!

I was overseas in the Navy for 9 months during Desert Shield/Storm.

I left when my first wife was 4 month pregnant and got back when my little girl was 4 months old. Now she is going to be 17 this year, time flys!

Both of my brothers were also military back then, so my Mom had to live with the 3 of us gone to war.

Out thoughts and prayers always go out to the military and their families.

I spent 10 years wearing AF blue and couldn't agree more. I was fortunate to have never been in combat but spent many long months away from home.

My brother-in-law sent me one of the best quotes I have read. It was Gen. George Patton and said that we should not mourn the death of such men but thank God that they lived.
