I currently have 2x250w metal halide setup over my 90 gallon. I am wanting to add some actinic support. the two options i am looking at is 2x48in t-5s or 2 48in VHOs both have a cheap ballast available but i am not sure which way i should go.....

VHOs will give you better pop. T5 has more color options. Bulbs are roughly the same price. If your goal is max flourescence I would go VHO

thats what i have been leaning towards. ARO makes a cheap balast and the bulbs have an internal reflector so all i would be missing would be end caps and some wiring.
