I bought two mushroom coarls about 8 days ago that will not fully open....Can someone please help.

81F is still reasonable, I don't know if that is the reason your mushroom corals aren't opening. I bought a chiller when my tank was 83F night 84F day.

Can you post a closeup of the mushroom coral in question? You seem to have posted pictures of other corals in your tank.

+1

When I moved my green strip mushrooms into a shaded area they got huge! An that was with 4 t-5's. I'd try some shade and see what happens.

In my limited experience the shrooms like lower flow and indirect light.

Too much flow and they get all wrinkled and contorted (SP).

Too much light and they kinda shrivel up.

Too little light and they balloon to very large sizes but they loose color intensity.
