Need snails.... (1 Viewer)

I need to know if anyone happens to have a bead on the cheapest place for snails. I need a mess of turbo and astrea (probably about 24 or so total) and some good sand sifters (nassarius?) or the like

I can get them from some on-line stores for as little as $0.83 each, but when you add the shipping on it puts their price up to around $1.60 a peice. Plus, I never saw them, so for all I know I could get a bag full of shells....

I would prefer to buy locally, but need someone who might either give a bulk discount, or someone who has them really reasonably priced...

As a reference I ordered some from them about 6 months ago and was very happy. A few nassarisus (Sp??) died in shipping, but they sent more than I purchased anyway, so I actually came out ahead. Oh, and I cant recommend the left handed hermits they sell as they are mean.

Last time I was at Global he had them for 1.99 each or 1.50 for 12 or more. Don't know if he still has them or at that price?

Aquatic center had snails for $1.49 ea on Monday. I can't remember if they're turbos, or astreas though.

Thanks guys... I will start making the rounds early enough tomorrow AM to get snails, get them back to Clear Lake, and still make the frag swap (fingers cross on a tailwind and no traffic)
