Well, I have a 155 that is 48inches long, and 31inches tall.

My cousin gave me a current light, that takes 2, 96wt bulbs. Turns out the ballasts are bad, and new ones are around 50-60$ a piece. Plus, the light isn't even the length of the tank, so I'm looking to simply buy a new one, though I do appreciate his generosity.

I'm looking at three lights right now, and need some opinions:

1.

http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2754545

2.

What would be the differences in the two I listed above? I'm looking to keep softies..so please help me out there. They also make the second one with 2 bulbs instead of one..I just need help on which would be the most/strongest light for some softies.

at 31" plus the height of the lamp from the water surface, i would question if it was enough to be effective at the bottom of the tank.

i would try to locate a 48" fixture that was a T5 or MH + T5... look for something that includes LED Moonlights for night time when the lights go out. they make the colors pop and fluoresce

I really liked those, but being a kid, my budget isn't too high. I actually just purchased a 48in t-5 set up off a store website, along with a skimmer pump, so my tank should be coming together with the addition of a new light, skimmer and sump next week. :)

Thanks for the help!!
