Does anyone have a Red Sea MAX 65 gallon reef set up that can tell me what they think about the system? I am putting a lot of thought into getting one. What concerns me is that I want to be able to what ever type of corals i choose (LPS SPS softies shrooms etc.) in it with out having lighting limitations. With it being a "complete" package will I be able to add power heads to it and other add on’s easy such as wave makers etc. I "as everyone might see" am selling my 110 and downsizing, but I want to get into something that is right for me and my needs. any thought? good bad anything. let me know what you think!

Any thoughts on a T-5 (234 watts total, three 39 watt 10,000k and three 39 watt actinic bulbs) system for a 26" deep tank?

Unless you are getting a used Red Sea Max for cheap, I'll bet most of the people on here would recommend spending the money putting together your own system. That way you can pick and choose the best skimmer, lights, etc that you can afford, and get a better working system overall. Their specs do not really impress me that much for the $$$. I have a ~65 gal system, drilled with sump, and I have about 1/2 the price of the RSM in my hardware, from buying it all used on here. But if the all in one idea is what you want, then the RSM is a viable option for a tank that size.

Trb,
Well I am downsizing from a 110, and I do like the "all in one" that they offer. I will be able to add a sump and can always add to it in the future, but my main concern is going to be the lights. I am coming from CF and MH to T-5's which is totally foreign to me. lol also there is only so much room under the hood for me to add lights. I would like to be able to place SPS and clams in there with out the worries of my babies going hungry! lol any who, do you think that I will have enough light? Or will I need more? Thank you for telling me your thoughts too BTW, some reefers just can’t handle the truth. If you know what I mean! lol

For T-5 you NEED separate reflectors for each bulb. ATI bulbs are usually the best. Also cooling the bulbs is important for more PAR. I think I saw just improved cooling got about 20% more PAR.

Ok I will def. keep that in mind. Are the 6 T-5's that are on the tank going to produce enough light to soot the needs of my corals?

Stunning. Thanks alexrex20. I was worried about it, but I guess worst case I could just change the bulbs to a higher wattage, if the 39 watts don’t cut it.
