Some one refered to a LFS on RC called Reef Builders. Any one been there? I looked it up and it is on Weslayn pretty close to Planet Fish I guess.

I think that Planet Fish took over the space that Reef Builders was in. There is no Reef Builders there now. I looked at the map and found that the location for Reef Builders is the same as the address for Planet Fish.

Never heard of it. If anyone knows about this store, please let me know, and I will look into evaluating them, and potentially soliciting sponsorship from them.

Houston Aquatics
1022 N Shepherd Dr

I have heard that this store is freshwater only, but I have never been there and therefore do not know for sure. If anyone knows about this store, please let me know, and I will look into evaluating them, and potentially soliciting sponsorship from them.

This is a store in south Houston, near Neptune's Garden. It is behind the Almeda Mall and used to be Fish Ranch IV, and then Mermaid's Hell errrr...Heaven. Since the store changed ownership recently it has become much better and I am working on signing this store as a sponsor. No word yet on the progress, though.

The guy who setup and runs the saltwater, JJ, is a real smart guy. I was in there yesterday and they had some decent prices.

Houston Aquatics on Shepherd. They have some saltwater, not much, but a couple tanks.

Inwood Aquatics also has a small saltwater selection.

I've found another one that has a small saltwater section as well. I don't remember the name of it, but it's on 249 and Bammel-North houston.

Reef Builders is Yut Heckler's aquarium setup and maintenance company. He has space shared w/ Planet Fish now next to Sawadee restaurant. If you ever go to Sawadee, make sure to get the Tom Yum Koong soup - it rules!

Yut is a very discerning aquarist and has been keeping reeftanks for a long long time.

Cheers

Pet Co has an awesome SW section. I would love to see them a sponsor! :D

maybe they could hire MARSH to run their SW department. 8O

Houston Aquatics is a dive and that is being kind. They have kittens, puppies, birds, reptiles, bunnies, and anything else that has legs or wings. Then they have FW and several SW tanks with some coral.

I have gone there in only extreme situations. It really is a bad place.

Empire Tropical is a seriously nasty roach-infested freshwater-only store. At least that's how it was a few years ago before we got into saltwater.
