I've been debating getting one, and a topic in another thread got me thinking even more. For those that have one, what's your opinion.

All I need it to do is measure temperature and control my heater, fan, and lights.

Is this what I need? I noticed that it has a wavemaker option, but I don't think that my Koralia pumps will work with that.

So I could get rid of my wavemaker powerstrip too? Hmmm, sounds like an even better deal. I have two maxijets on my wavemaker right now. My Koralias are all on constantly. I tried them before I knew they were not good as wavemakers, and I even put a piece of plastic drinking straw on the metal center rod to keep them from clattering on startup. It worked OK, as long as they were pointed up and not down. I did have them start up backwards a few times, but only until the wavemaker cycled a few times. I might try some scrap acrylic tubing I have on them again....

I'm planning on something controller wise for my new tank. Of course the other controllers are out of my price range, so I'm probably going to go with the RKL. I'm pretty sure Dennis -d2mini has one on his system, and it works pretty well for him.

Saw some posts on another forum about Reefkeeper having a deal on for an upgrade from reefkeeper lite to elite for $149.00. That guy indicated that reefkeeper was planning to have the deal in place for a while. He is buying the lite with plans to upgrade later when money gets less tight. You might check with them. It wouldn't be bad if you could try the lite out for 6 months or so then upgrade up if you needed it for not a bunch of extra bucks.

see, i looked at it and there are great things and then there are not so great things. on some of the posts, i see where its costly to buy additions to it.

i am looking for something simple where i can stick a temp and ph probe in my water. i hame seen some that even send you an email if something is going wrong.

the outlet plugs would be great, but that means i just blew $40 on my coralife dual timer. i would need something that would be able to put (3) lights on timer.

i like the wavemaker part, but then i am seeing that the type of water circulators may have issues with running backwards from the constant on/off.

i would like to one day upgrade where i can hook up a dosing pump funtion so that i can pre mix some chems and have it dose with out me messing with it too much.

and as a bonus, if it could print out money to help me fund this underwater drug addition call SW hobby, that would be great!!!!
