i have a rfi water level controller that i use to auto top off my tank. there are two float sensors that are connected to this controller. i need to make some sort of overflow box to hang on the side of my tank to protect the sensors. does anybody kno how to make one or does anyone know where i can get one?

maybe just use a regular overflow box (small) hang on like the ones we use that dont have a reef ready tank. just put it higher than your other over flow box and prime it with some water in the overflow and hope it stays that way when the water level reaches a certain point it should kick in and start working. i could be wrong but it sounded like a good idea while i typed it :D

are you not running some kind of sump that you could top off into? the sensors could go in there! If not I assume your concern is making sure nothing in the tank will interfear with the operation of the float switches, and you need some kind of screen around these. You could always mount the switches inside of some pvc pipe with a cap on top and bottom with some small holes drilled in the bottom cap for the water to enter and one hole in the top for the wires to go through. just some thoughts!!

float sensors

the float sensors are mounted on the side of my tank using suction cups that were provided when i bought it. how do i attach a section of pvc pipe to the sensor so it'll stay and protect the sensor?
