I bought a BTA 3 days ago and my tomato clown is not hosting it yet. Does anyone know how to encourage this.

First, the anemone "hosts" the clown, not the other way around. Second, just give it time. Sometimes takes minutes to find their way, sometimes days or months, and sometimes they just won't take to it. You'll just have to wait and see. How big is the nem vs. the clown?

Thank you, rxonco. I always hear people say clowns hosting anemones. It's so backwards. The anemone provides the living space/home, therefore is the 'host'.

and yes. just takes time.

I agree with the English lesson but finish it please. What do you call what clown is doing?

I don't know if sqautter is right either. Usually the clown "pays" the anemone by feeding it, so technically, he's paying rent and getting shelter in exchange! :D

ooh, grammatical error. I should have said "...doesn't flow off the tongue as easily." Darn adverbs.

trb, you're correct. So the clown is a tenant. That just doesn't sound as cool.

Sorry, Colin, for hijacking your thread. :) Did I already mention to give it time?

Well, if I were you, I'd hope that it takes a month or two for the clown to notice the nem. Otherwise your BTA is gonna get beat up pretty bad. Your nem needs to be substantially larger than your clown to be able to withstand the constant pounding.

Still can't figure out what I am doing wrong to be able to get these pic's full size instead of these tiny ones that I somehow mange to keep posting...
